Project title: Preparation and Crystallization of Hemin Derivatives

Project description (50-100 words suggested): New methods will be developed to grow crystals of iron(protoporphyrin-IX) derivatives.  These crystals will be used for X-ray diffraction to resolve issues relating to disorder and the types of bonding that is present in these solids.

Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.

Grading scheme (The final report must be worth at least 50% of final grade): Lab work 50%; Final report 50%.

Project status: This project is taken. The professor has no more '396' projects this term.
