Project title: Examining correlation between aggression and boldness
Project description (50-100 words suggested): The aim of this project is to determine if there is a correlation between aggression, boldness, and early foraging in worker ants. The central question [for the student] to address [is] whether ants that are highly aggressive and/or extremely bold are more likely to take on certain behavioural roles in the colony (ie. behavioural group). Aggression and boldness are be to evaluated through behavioural tests on day 2 and day 4 old P. dentata workers while following their behavioural progression until day 5, when they are classified as foragers or nurses.
Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.
Grading scheme (The final report must be worth at least 50% of final grade): to be confirmed
Project status: This project is taken; however students may contact the professor to discuss other possible '396' projects this term.
