INSTRUCTIONS - STUDENTS: You may receive this form by email, or you may download it after it has been posted. Either way, print this form. Complete and sign Section C on the hardcopy. Ask your supervisor to sign Section D. Take it to the department corresponding to the course number in Section A (this may or may not be your own department). Do not register for a '396' course on Minerva until you receive departmental permission.

Project title: Primary Hepatocellular carcinoma and predictors of recurrence after liver transplantation
Project description: Data base review of prospectively collected data in over 100 pts with primary hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing liver transplantation at the MUHC between 1992 and 2009. We will correlate various markers such as size of the cancer, histological gade, vascular invasion, the slope of the serum alpha-fetoprotein measured prior to transplantation, the result of the PET scan, with patient survival and cancer recurrence.
Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.

Grading scheme (The final report must be worth at least 50% of final grade): 50% of the grade will be based on the written report and 50% will be on data collection and analysis
