| Project start date: | January 4, 2010 |
| Project end date: | April 14, 2010 |
| Project title: | Characterization of a novel Pitx2c antibody |
| Project description: | At least 3 different Pitx2 isoforms exist in the chick embryo. These isoforms, which differ only in their N-terminal domain, arise from alternative splicing and transcription initiation. The Pitx2c isoform has been shown to be an important molecule for patterning asymmetric development during embryogenesis. A peptide antibody designed against the Pitx2c N-terminus will be used to examine asymmetric Pitx2c expression in the chick embryo. |
