Major power outage on downtown campus

A major power failure today, April 16th, is affecting a large section of the downtown campus. We expect power to be restored by 10:30 a.m.

Find out more about this unique five-week public lecture series organized by the Faculty of Science and be educated by some of the University's top professors. The series starts with 'Dr. Joe' from the Office of Science and Society on chemistry, love and gender and concludes with Barbara Sherwin's talk about hormones and memory in both genders.

No science background is required. There is no homework and no exam.

This public course will take place over five consecutive Thursday evenings, from March 14 to April 11.

GIS Day

November 14, 2012, is the international GIS Day. For the occasion, the Geographic Information Centre will be hosting a series of activities. The GIC is a new centre recently opened as part of the Geography Department at McGill to answer geographical information system and remote sensing needs from the McGill community. A free public presentation on field research and exploration featuring National Geographic Emerging Explorer and ecological anthropologist Kenny Broad and renowned alpinist and The North Face athlete Conrad Anker will be held at McGill on Saturday, Sept. 29. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Leacock Room 132 on the downtown campus.
