Congratulations to K. Peter Russell, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics! He was recently named a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society "for contributions to algebraic geometry, for mentoring the next generation of mathematicians, and for professional leadership at the highest levels."

“Advice to Young Scientists on Thriving in a Complex World”

Dr. Smol's talk is open to the public, although seats are limited.

Everyone is also welcome to visit the Undergraduate Research Conference throughout the day.

Pioneers in theoretical biology and biophysics.

Michael Mackey is the Joseph Morley Drake Professor of Physiology and a member of the Departments of Physics and Mathematics. Trained in physics, mathematics and physiology, he has been a long-time advocate of interdisciplinary research and education, developing the Joint Major Programmes in Physiology & Physics and Physiology & Mathematics at McGill long before other universities realized their importance.

Leon Glass attended Brooklyn College and did graduate work at the University of Chicago. Before moving to McGill University, where he is currently a Professor of Physiology and the Isadore Rosenfeld Chair in Cardiology, he held postdoctoral positions at the University of Edinburgh, the University of Chicago, and the University of Rochester.
