to
14:30
Maass Chemistry Building Rm 10, 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0B8, CA

Discovery and optimization of new reaction methodologies requires a detailed analysis, beyond simple end-point metrics, such as yield at a fixed time point.

CCVC Seminar: Dr. Antonio Togni - The Trifluoromethyl Group in Catalysis and Organometallic Chemistry

25Oct201613:00
to
14:30
Maass Chemistry Building Rm 10, 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0B8, CA

The lecture will give an overview on trifluoromethylation reactions carried out with hypervalent iodine reagents of type 1 and 2 [1].

18Oct201613:00
to
14:30
Maass Chemistry Building Rm 10, 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0B8, CA

Carbocyclizations, annulation processes involving carbon-carbon bond formation via carbometalation, constitute an extremely important and useful class of reaction for the syntheses of carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds.

Chemical Society Seminar: Dr. Jagadese J. Vittal - Changing The Solid State Structural Landscape Under UV Light

11Oct201613:00
to
14:30
Maass Chemistry Building Rm 10, 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0B8, CA

Controlling the photoreactivity of the solids, especially metal complexes, coordination polymers (CPs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is a challenging task in the past.

Chemical Society Seminar: Dr. Gabriela Schlau-Cohen - Single-molecule exploration of the regulation of photosynthetic light harvesting

4Oct201613:00
to
14:30
Maass Chemistry Building Rm 10, 801 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0B8, CA

In photosynthetic light harvesting, absorbed energy migrates through a protein network to reach a dedicated location for conversion to chemical energy. This energy flow is efficient, directional, and, in oxygenic photosynthesis, regulated.
