Terms:

Established in 2000 through a very generous gift from Dr. Richard H. Tomlinson, Ph.D. 1948.

Eligibility:

The Tomlinson Doctoral Fellowships are for NEW students accepted into a doctoral degree at any department at McGill University.  Students currentlly registered at McGill or whose latest degree was completed or in progress at McGill, are ineligible. Former McGill students who later completed a graduate degree elsewhere may apply.

At-a-Glance:

  • Restricted to New Ph.D. graduate students
  • Commonly used for recruitment purposes
  • Renewable twice

Renewable:

Annually based on satisfactory progress, to a maximum tenure of 3 years for doctoral level.

Dr. And Mrs. Milton Leong Fellowships in Science

Deadline: 23 January 2017

Terms:

Established in 1994 through a donation of Dr. Milton H.K. Leong, B.Sc. 1966, M.D.,C.M. 1970, and Susanna S. C. Leong (Liang), B.Sc. 1969, M.Sc. 1973.

Eligibility:

  • Awarded to outstanding graduate students in the Faculty of Science
  • Preference is given to Chinese students from Nankai, Peking and/or Tsinghua
  • Not restricted to New students

Nominations should be accompanied by:

  • the applicant’s current C.V.

  • all official transcripts from university level studies (graduate and undergraduate), with McGill GPA conversion if applicable

  • a one-page summary of the applicant’s current and/or proposed research

  • a supporting letter from the supervisor or Graduate Program Director, describing the applicant’s academic and research performance, highlighting exceptional achievements

Value:

  • Varies, $20,000 - $25,000
  • Non-renewable
