Motivational Interviewing: Towards Change? is part of the Recovery at its core lunch lecture series. The lectures are on four major themes, and will be held from March 12 to June 11, 2013. The series is presented by the Clinical Activities, Knowledge Transfer and Teaching Directorate (CAKTTD).
There is no longer any doubt—motivational interviewing is one of the best practices in mental health therapy. During this lecture, you will gain a better understanding of this clinical approach, which aims to strengthen the client’s intrinsic motivation to commit to change. We will present the source of this 25-year-old approach as well as the spirit and values that underlie and guide its practice. The approach will be defined and put into perspective in the context of its potential in different clinical settings.
