McGill NCS is pleased to offer complimentary data service. Each and every residence room in your building has wireless access and a working high-speed data jack into which you can plug your computer and start surfing the Internet. Voice service is available through the REGISTER YOUR ROOM process.

Complimentary service ends on Monday, September 12, 2011.

We will be participating in the Parents Tent this year on August 26-29, 2011, where you can pay us a visit with any questions you may have about our REZ Voice and Data Service.

PRICE LIST for 2011-2012

The McGill REZ Voice and Data Service is pleased to present the 2011-2012 pricing plan. The 2011-2012 prices are for two semesters and include all applicable taxes:

Voice Service comes with our long distance plan.

Data Service comes with both wired and wireless connectivity in all McGill Residences and MORE buildings, exclusively for REZ Voice and Data Service subscribers!

SUMMER SERVICE: It's not too late to sign up!

Regular phone and Internet has recently been cut off for all REZ students who have not signed up for Summer Service. If you have missed the deadline, it is not too late to sign up.

Summer Service runs for four months, from May to August, and at the following rates: Voice and Data Bundle $250; Voice Only $150; Data Only $200.

To sign up, please fill out the Summer Service Application Form [.docx] and send it to rezclerk@mcgill.ca.

Please note that requests can take up to a day to process.

SHUTDOWN OF REZ VOICE AND DATA SERVICE

Please be advised that REZ Voice and Data Service will soon come to an end.

All phone lines and high-speed data connections will be shut down for the summer on Monday, May 2, 2011, at 12:00 noon.

The shutdown will be for all services purchased through NCS and will include:

• For Voice: dialtone, voice mailboxes and authorization codes
• For Data: wired internet connectivity and REZ wireless access

To keep your phone and/or internet connections beyond May 2, 2011, please sign up for service throughout the summer months.

ABOUT SUMMER SERVICE

Summer Service is only available for the entire four-month period of May to August.

Students who desire phone and/or internet for less than four months should sign up for the summer semester and cancel their service once they are leaving.

The full summer will be billed up-front, and any months not used will be later reimbursed.

The cost for Summer Service, running May 1 to August 31, is:

• Data Only $200
• Voice Only $150
• Voice and Data $250

LEAVING REZ? Disconnection request needed for refund!

If you have or will be moving out to REZ, please remember to cancel your Voice and Data Service. This is not done automatically when you return your keys!

Please send an email to email the day you would like your service cut off. Ask for a service disconnection, and remember to include the following information:

Name
Student ID
Rez + room number

If you are emailing early, also remember to include the actual date you would like your service cut off.

MOVING? Update your records before October 1st!

As of October 1, 2010, we will be charging $10 to process your move. If you have already moved and would like to update your record, please send us an email.

Remember to include your Student ID, old room number + building, and your new location. If you are in a shared room, remember to verify which side you are moving into.

Exceptions will be made for students who are in temporary rooms, or those students asked to move by the Housing Offices – upon providing proof.

COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE IS OVER: But you can still sign up!

Complimentary Service is now over, which means that you no longer have access to REZ phone and Internet if you have not signed up. Please keep in mind that Internet refers to both your wired connection and your access to the exclusive REZ wireless network.

To register for service, you may continue to REGISTER YOUR ROOM or you may sign up in-person at Burnside Hall, room 107, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

*NOTE: Due to the volume of requests, there is now a lag time of half a business day between registration and service activation for Data Service.

With the end of complimentary service on September 13, 2010, all students who have not registered their room will lose their high-speed Internet connections at the end of the day.
