While the method for preparing and writing grant applications varies from one funding agency to another, effective applications share some common features that optimize the chances of being funded. This page contains resources and strategies for successful grant writing.
Grantsmanship sessions
The Office of Sponsored Research organizes annual grantsmanship sessions for faculty members, given by McGill researchers who have been members of grant review committees.
In these sessions, "behind the scenes" information and tips about the peer review committee process and other relevant activities are provided with a view to enhancing the quality of grant applications.
Presentations from past years' Grantsmanship sessions are available here. To view the sessions, please click on a session and enter firstname.lastname@ mcgill.ca and your DAS password.
Please contact an OSR officer or send an info [dot] osr [at] mcgill [dot] ca (email) for information regarding recent and upcoming sessions.
