About MESRST

The Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, Recherche, Science et Technologie (MESRST)develops and proposes policies to the Government in the areas of college education, teaching and university research, student financial assistance, as well as in the areas of science and technology.

Its aim is to;

  • Promote higher learning, research, science and technology
  • Contribute by promotion to the development and support of these areas
  • Increase educational attainment for the population of Quebec
  • Promote access to higher forms of knowledge to anyone who has the desire and ability
  • Support excellence and innovation in its fields of competence, in consultation with the various stakeholdersThe MDEIE also supports research funding.

The MESRST funding support is 50% of eligible costs from creation of partnerships (for a maximum of $5000) to large-scale joint partnerships (Max. $1.5 million).

Valorization and Transfer Support Program
Programme de soutien à la valorisation et au transfert (PSVT)

Volet 3 – Technological Maturation Support/Soutien à la maturation technologique (SMT)

This program was created to answer the needs of universities, CEGEPS, public institutions and charitable organizations that are key players in the valorization of research results and knowledge transfer. The program is positioned as one of the first steps to be completed, before commercialization throughout licensing or direct transfer of the research results to a spin-off company. The MESRST funding can reach up to $700,000.

Universities, university health centers and public research centers are the only institutions admissible to this program. The research project must be submitted in French, must undergo scientific and commercial evaluations by external, independent reviewers prior to submission and must be submitted through our valorization society MSBiV.
