Conflicts of interest may occur in the conduct of research programs for a variety of reasons. You will see below the McGill Conflict of Interest Regulation, which outlines, among other things, roles and responsibilities.
Furthermore, in an effort to help researchers identify possible conflicts the companion document "recognizing conflicts of interest" was developed by way of assisting researchers in identifying situations which may need to be declared to the university. It is not necessarily the case that all conflicts must be eliminated, but they must be disclosed and managed.
To that end we have a disclosure form which should be completed and submitted to your Department Chair for any situation where there may be a perceived conflict of interest.
