Ongoing project to verify integrity of training records transferred from our Legacy system to Darwin, and copied during renewals.

BELOW ARE THE CHANGES FROM THE PROMOTION OF ENHANCEMENT APPLIED ON APRIL 24 2013.

Numbers were added to most of the names in the Table of Content and their related protocol page titles to help users in referring to a section. This applies to the left hand menu when researchers are completing a protocol as well as at the top of a protocol when committee members review a protocol.

Some questions and instructions were reworded to clarify or explain.

The short Annual Review now has a red Committee “Comment Notes” boxes for the recommendations so that reviewers and researchers can easily find it.

There is a new question with a check box for each Person in the Personnel section to ask if they do animal monitoring. The names of people is not needed in the endpoint section anymore which makes it easier when updating the Personnel list.

For researchers and their staff, there is a new Table of Content option at the bottom labeled “>>> ASSISTANCE”. Once clicked, a page with the Web sites with information about the software, University Animal Care Committee documents, theory course material and practical workshop is hyperlinked for your convenience.

For research involving animals that are not Darwin cage carded in an animal facility, researchers will need to supply the number of animals used in the past year in the “Number Justification” section in the full renewal form (as it is currently the case for the short renewal form).

Requested Room number Field on Animal Order forms - A “Requested Housing Room #”” field has been added to the Animal Order application. In cases where PIs house their animals in multiple rooms, this will provide additional information to the office staff as to the PI’s preferred housing location. The approved room assignment is confirmed by the ASUPER and/or ABUYER in the “Housing Room” field.

The PI indicates the “Requested Housing Room #” field on the Create Animal Order>Order Line Detail page of the Animal Order Requisition. Order is submitted to the Facility.

ASUPER/ ABUYER: Confirm or edit the room number by entering the approved location in the “Room No” field.

Implementation of the 3G upgrade (3rd generation) which is promised to be much faster and more flexible. Preparatory activities started in 2013 with intend to purchase and rolling out in 2014.
