FACILITY ANIMAL CARE COMMITTEES (FACCs)

The principal investigator must submit the protocol to the animal committee of the institution/ faculty/ hospital with which he/she is affiliated with. The PI's profile in the animal protocol on-line software Darwin will automatically be set up to submit to the appropriate committee.

Downtown Campus
(for Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science)

All protocols and amendments are to be received 11 days before the meeting date via the Darwin on-line software. Coordinator of the Facility Animal Care Committee: animalethics [dot] review [at] mcgill [dot] ca (Email).

Meetings of Downtown Committee A (Cell biology and tumour type protocols): are usually on the last Tuesday of each month except in the summer.

• Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at 1:00pm (Deadline for submission: Fri. Oct. 18, 2013)
• Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 1:00pm (Deadline for submission: Fri. Nov. 15, 2013)
• No December meeting.

Meetings of Downtown Committee B (Behaviour, physiology and non-human primate type protocols) : are usually on the first Tuesday of each month except in the summer.

• Tuesday, Oct. 8 (Note: one week later than usual), 2013 at 1:00pm (Deadlines for submission: Fri. Sept. 27, 2013)
• Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at 1:00pm (Deadlines for submission: Fri. Nov. 22, 2013)

• Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at 1:00pm (Deadline for submission: Fri. Aug. 23, 2013)

Macdonald Campus
(for Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Field Type Studies)

Meetings: are usually once a month. The next ones are scheduled for:

• Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at 1:00pm
• Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at 1:00pm
• No December meeting.

Douglas Mental Health University Institute

Meetings are usually every one or two months.

SMBD Jewish General Hospital, Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research

Meetings are 4 to 6 times a year.

Montreal Neurological Institute

MUHC - Montreal Children's Hospital site

Meetings are every two months, usually on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

MUHC - Montreal General Hospital site

Meetings are once a month, usually the first Thursday of the month.

MUHC - Royal Victoria Hospital site and Meakins-Christie Laboratories

Meetings are usually once a month.

Shriners Hospital for Children

Meetings are usually every 3-4 months.

Animal Ethics Subcommittee

Meetings are every month or two, usually the third Thursday of every month.

University Animal Care Committee (UACC)

Meetings are 2 to 4 times a year.
