AMURE Template Letters of Offer for Research Associates & Research Assistants

McGill Human Resources has asked Research and International Relations to relay updates on the University’s negotiations with AMURE, the union representing research associates and assistants.

As you may be aware, the AMURE collective agreements for Research Associates and Research Assistants were signed on April 24, 2013. As a result, all staffing communications related to Research Associates and Research Assistants must be brought into line with the provisions of the collective agreements. This includes letters of offer, reappointment letters and postings. In order to assist the various faculties in the implementation of the collective agreements, we are in the process of creating standard templates to be used in relation to research employees.

The templates for letters of offer are now complete and have been attached to this email for your reference. From now on, these templates will be posted with other staffing letters under the Restricted Site tab in the HR Administrator’s section of McGill’s HR website; login at www.mcgill.ca/hr/ha. The most current versions of the letters will be kept at this location online. It is therefore advised that you go to the website each time you need to access the templates, as they may be updated without notice. Requests for access to the HR Restricted Site should be addressed to staffing.hr [at] mcgill.ca.
