Pour le mois d'archeologie: Hands-on Archaeology Dig / Fouille archéologique

Immerse yourself in a hands-on, interactive archaeological dig led by Michelle Della Corte (Concordia University, Classics and Archeology), recently returned from a dig in Argilos, Greece. Michelle majors in Classical Civilization (in which Archaeology is a huge component) and Anthropology.  Participants will learn about archeological tools, methods and the techniques used to uncover the artifacts from the past. They will go to an outdoor simulated archaeological site near the Museum to uncover buried artifacts—recording and cataloging each as it is uncovered. Once the artifacts are uncovered, they wil return to the Museum to pieces together and identify their finds. For all ages. Bilingual.

Prenez part à un atelier archéologique interactif, sur le terrain, en compagnie de Michelle Della Corte (Université Concordia, études classiques et anthropologie), qui est de retour d’un récent voyage en Argilos, Grece ou elle a eu l’occasion de procéder à de véritables fouilles archéologiques. Au cours de l’atelier, les participants se familiariseront avec les outils, méthodes et techniques archéologiques servant à mettre au jour des artefacts du passé. Une fois à l’intérieur du site archéologique situé à proximité du Musée, ils se mettront à la recherche d’artefacts enfouis, les répertoriant et les cataloguant au fur et à mesure. De retour au Musée, ils réuniront et identifieront les trésors qu’ils auront dénichés.

Entrée : 8 $ pour les enfants; tous les autres membres de la famille sont admis GRATUITEMENT.
