Impact Internships for McGill students: The SEI Impact Internship Program (SEI IIP) is a high-quality, carefully monitored internship program in which a group of exceptional students are selected through a competitive process to apply what they have learned in the classroom to professional settings and projects within the social economy.

In November 2013, McGill’s inquisitive spirit was on display during its first weeklong celebration of innovation and creativity. With a series of AUCC Open Doors events showcasing McGill’s engagement in the community, open discussion on innovative ideas, the McGill Community learned more about innovation and the QI role as a an innovative incubator in Montreal’s burgeoning South-West area.
On Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 various group community engagement activities will occur on campus and around the city. These activities will highlight some form of collaboration between the University and a Montreal community organization. Students, staff, faculty and alumni are encouraged to participate in these activities, during which they will learn experientially about the societal issues and challenges facing communities in Montreal while doing something to address them.

Un regard sur l'avenir du Quartier de l'innovation/ Researching the Future in the QI
On Friday, October 4th, 2013 more than 500 people participated in Community Engagement Day (CED) at McGill. For the second year, the Social Equity and Diversity Education Office (SEDE) organized a full day of volunteer activities for students, faculty and staff. For this edition, 6 activities were held within the Quartier de l'innovation district spanning from Griffintown, Little-Burgundy, Saint-Henri to Pointe-St-Charles.

As a McGill University student, you can get involved in a variety of ways within the QI. May it be in an existing project or in your very own endeavor; the QI is your “living lab”!
