About Us

The office of Planning and Institutional Analysis (PIA) is responsible for gathering, maintaining, analyzing and communicating institutional and other relevant data. PIA also plays an important role in shaping the external policy framework that supports the advocacy work of the Principal, the Provost and McGill’s senior executive team.

PIA’s mission is to support institutional decision-making and policy development by providing useful information and insight.

PIA’s vision is to set the standard in North America for institutional research and policy development; to be a core group of experienced analysts with the analytical capacity to contribute to McGill’s leadership; and to promote a Culture of Evidence in the University community and beyond.
