Admission to McGill Ophthalmology Fellowships

Fellowship in Ophthalmology

The New 2014-2015 Admission year will open on May 15, 2013.  Candidates should not apply before May 15, 2013.

The starting point of the application process is the online application: http://www.medicine.mcgill.ca/postgrad/admission_applyingonline.htm.

DEADLINES:

June 30, 2013: Deadline for Development of new McGill Fellowships:
In order for it to be possible for a fellowship to be offered,  the Fellowship Director , has to submit the description to the Program Director who then submits it to the Residency Training Committee (including capacity i.e. number of trainees) for approval.   The Program Director needs to send us a letter of support approving the fellowship.   Once approved by the Associate Dean,  we will then post the fellowship on our website and only then can it be offered.  For the list of fellowships offered at McGill University please check the following link: http://www.medicine.mcgill.ca/postgrad/fellowship_programs.htm

Cornea / external disease and uveitis Fellowship

Length: 1 year
Number of positions per year: 1(clinical fellowship in corneal & external diseases) and 1 (uveitis fellowship)
Type of fellowships: Clinical

The Henry C Witelson Ocular Pathology Laboratory Fellowship

Length: 1 year

Type of fellowship: Clinical

Vitreo-Retinal and Medical Retina Fellowship:
Length: 2 year
Number of positions per year: 2
Type of fellowship: Clinical

Hospitals involved in training: McGill University Health Center (MUHC) and Jewish General Hospital.
Overall Objective: The vitreoretinal fellowship provides eligible applicants with a strong foundation in both surgical and medical retina skill development. During the MUHC rotation, fellows will also be exposed to private office experience (20%). Cornea, External Disease, Keratorefractive Surgery Fellowship
Length: 1 year

Type of fellowship: Clinical

Hospital involved in training:  Montreal General Hospital (MGH), Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), Montreal Children's Hospital (MCH), St Mary's and others (e.g. laser centers, outside offices)

Glaucoma Fellowship
Length: 1 year
