Welcome to the McGill University Department of Ophthalmology
The McGill University Department of Ophthalmology is one of Canada’s leading academic departments of ophthalmology. We are renowned for our basic and clinical research into understanding the mechanisms of vision, ocular genetics, retinal pathophysiology, glaucoma, and ocular immunology. We have a Royal College accredited residency program, well-recognized fellowship programs, and an unparalleled international faculty of researchers, specialists, and subspecialists. Our primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary patient care is located at five principal sites: the McGill Academic Eye Centre, the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Jewish General Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital, and St. Mary’s Hospital.
We invite you to explore our website and learn more about the programs and activities in our department.
