Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery in Gynecologic Oncology

This academic program is designed as a one-year integrated fellowship for fully-trained gynecologist oncologists, to develop further expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of gynecological cancers.
Our program focuses on a wide range of advanced minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. Fellows who complete the program will be well-versed in all of the following procedures: laparoscopic hysterectomy, pelvic lymphadectomy, paraaortic lymphadectomy and omentectomy. In addition, the fellow will acquire expertise in minimally invasive gastrointestinal procedures of relevance to the optimum treatment of gynaecological cancers, mainly bowel resection and anastomosis, the creation of ostomies.
The fellow will be trained both in conventionally minimally invasive surgery as well as robotic surgical procedures, using a da Vinci® III Robot.
