Your student card is proof that you are a registered student at McGill, and you’ll need it to use most essential services on campus, including the library, athletics facilities, residences and cafeterias. It’s also good to carry it with you at all times in case of an emergency. To obtain your card, you have to be registered for at least one Fall term course, and you will need to bring along your McGill ID number and valid photo ID. Check back here for the locations and operating hours of ID card centres on both campuses.
How to obtain your card:
First, you must register for at least one course and wait 24 hours following registration.
Next, present yourself at Service Point with the following:
- Your McGill ID number (found on your letter of acceptance)
- One piece of government-issued photo ID
- Documents proving your legal status here in Canada. Visit the
Legal documents website for a complete list of what you will require.
