Housing and settling in
McGill has a number of student residences located on or near the main campus, as well as the Macdonald Campus in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. If you are a first-year McGill student, 22 years of age and under, and have paid your residence deposit before the deadline of June 17, then we guarantee you a space in our residences.
- If you have been offered a place in residence, read the online information package carefully and make sure you respond by the deadline. Let us know what type of residence you would like and pay your room reservation deposit by logging on to Minerva.
- If you are a Macdonald Campus student, be sure to read the Macdonald campus residence information.
- If you are planning to live off-campus, visit Off-Campus housing for tips and a listing of available accommodation(s).
- Take a tour of all of the McGill undergraduate residences: dorms, apartments and shared-facilities houses.
Food and Dining Services offer various meal plan options. There is one that is sure to fit your needs. These declining-balance meal plans work much like debit cards, making it quick and easy to pay for your food.
- Residence students may be registered in a Mandatory Residential Meal Plan, depending on their residence.
- Non-residence students can also purchase one of two Voluntary Meal Plans, the Tax-exempt Saver and the Taxable Commuter Meal Plans.
- The Voluntary Meal Plans are the only options available to students of Macdonald Campus.
