Course selection and Registration

Consult the Schulich School of Music website at www.mcgill.ca/music/current-students/undergraduate/newly-admitted. Pay particular attention to the Placement Exams, Advising and Ensemble Audition schedules.

In order to avoid late registration fees, you should register for at least one course. The final selection of courses is determined following the results of placement exams and ensemble auditions; however, all B.Mus. Music students must register for MUPD 135 and MUPD 136 during their first year of study.

The normal course load for the Schulich School of Music is 15 to 18 credits per term.

Placement Examinations

Placement examinations in Music History, Theory, Musicianship and Keyboard Proficiency will be held on (Date to be determined).

For detailed information, consult the placement examination schedule at www.mcgill.ca/music/current-students/undergraduate/newly-admitted/placement-exams.
