Placement Exams are held in August. Please consult the information under the Schulich School of Music.

Students in this program are under the joint jurisdiction of the Schulich School of Music and the Faculty of Education.


Year 0 - Freshman Year


Students will follow freshman requirements as outlined by the Schulich School of Music.


Year 1 - First Year Profile


Fall term:
- EDEC 215 (English Exam for Teacher Certification)
- MUIT 202, MUIT 203 or MUIT 204
- Basic Ensemble Training
- Practical Instruction

Music History, Theory and Musicianship courses will be assigned following Placement Exam results.

Winter term:
- EDEC 260 or EDEC 261
- MUCT 235
- Basic Ensemble Training
- Practical Instruction

Music History, Theory and Musicianship courses will be assigned following Placement Exam results.

Spring/Summer term:
- EDFE 205 (First Year Field Experience)
- EDEA 206 (First Year Professional Seminar)
