Toronto Sun - McGill to host green chemistry school

Published: 18 June 2011

McGill University’s position as an international centre for green chemistry was cemented Friday when the American Chemical Society (ACS) chose it to host the green chemistry summer school for the second time in 10 years.

Green chemistry, also known as sustainable chemistry, is the design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances. Sixty graduate students and post-doctoral scholars from across the Americas will come to McGill for a week beginning June 26 to explore scientific solutions to global challenges at the ACS Summer School on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Energy.
