Montreal Gazette - SynesthASIA benefit

Published: 14 February 2011

Each year for the past three years, the SynesthAsia team at McGill University has organized a charity fashion show - and chosen a different charitable organization as beneficiary.

This year's show, held Jan. 28 at the Telus Theatre, drew more than 800 people and raised more than $8,000 for the Abhilasha Project, a Canadian-based non-profit organization dedicated to change in India and throughout the developing world by focusing on children with disabilities.

The money raised goes toward constructing a sustainable building accessible to people with disabilities. The 141 young people who live at the Abhilasha School have a range of disabilities; they get room and board, clothing and education -at no cost to their families.
