McGill recruits world-renowned IT pioneer
Peter A. Todd to lead Faculty of Management, boost Canadian brain gain
A McGill graduate is returning to his alma mater as Dean of McGill University's Faculty of Management. Peter A. Todd, a leading expert in the use and organization of information technology (IT), will begin in his new role on July 5, 2005.
Dr. Todd, currently Senior Associate Dean at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce, has earned an outstanding reputation for his research into user satisfaction of information technology and the impact that information systems have on the business world. Dr. Todd is known for his cutting-edge research into how people relate to technology-related change, including such emerging fields as online shopping.
Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University, said Dr. Todd will be joining the prestigious Faculty of Management at a critical and exciting time.

"We are overwhelmingly happy with the return of this exceptional alumnus, who will lead the Faculty in which he was educated."

Over the last two decades, Dr. Todd has held leadership roles at some of North America's most renowned universities. Prior to joining the University of Virginia, he was Director of the Information Systems Research Center (ISRC) and Associate Dean at the University of Houston College of Business Administration. As ISRC director, he conducted research and ran executive education programs for senior IT executives.
Before leaving for the United States, Dr. Todd was a professor of management information systems at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He also served as Queen's director of research and PhD programs. He has a PhD in information systems from the University of British Columbia and earned his bachelor of commerce from McGill University in 1983.
