April 14: Propagating your own indoor plants workshop

Looking for an inexpensive way to have more plants at home or in the office? This hands-on noon-hour workshop sponsored by Greening Indoor McGill Initiative (GIMI) will teach you how cheap and easy it is to propagate various office plants using the stem cutting method and an empty, plastic pop bottle. You will propagate two kinds of plants and also receive a 5” Passionflower (Passiflora), a beautiful plant with incredible flowers. Monday, April 14. Two sessions: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

The McGill Nursing Collaborative is proud to present Dr. Sally Thorne, RN, PhD, FAAN, FCAHS, DSc (Hon) speaking at Montreal Neurological Institute (3801 University Street) in the Jeanne Timmins Amphitheatre on Tuesday, April 8, from 4 p.m. – 6. p.m. Dr. Thorne, a prominent leader in Canadian nursing, will be taking a look at issues that educators, clinicians and researchers need to be thinking about to have maximal impact in health care in the coming years. This is a topic of interest to both nurses and the nursing students in our various programs.

From April 7-10, enjoy taffy on snow, pudding chômeur, maple-glazed, all-natural pork loin, and so much more in the Residence Dining Halls and some on-campus cafés. Students at the Faculty of Law will launch the second annual edition of the student magazine Contours: Voices of Women in Law on Tuesday, April 8. This non-profit publication showcases the original written and artistic work, in French and English, by women students and faculty members. The issue focuses on the broad theme of “values” and features an interview with the Honourable Claire L’Heureux-Dubé, retired justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
