Visual Identity

Maintaining high standards in how we visually represent The Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital - The Neuro - reflects our overall commitment to excellence, our personality and brand essence. A comprehensive visual identity system allows us to communicate and present information with distinction and consistently throughout our institution.

The Neuro Visual Identity Guide and templates are intended for Neuro faculty and staff, and are a resource for developing marketing and communications materials. The guidelines should be used as a reference tool when developing materials.

The logos and design elements within the template files should not be manipulated in any way nor should they be given to a third party without permission of The Neuro’s Communications Office.

The graphic standards outlined within the guide have been developed to ensure that The Neuro brand is effectively represented to our external audiences and is used appropriately with our parent – McGill and MUHC - identities as well as that of The Killam Laureates. Please consult us early in the development process if there are questions or concerns on how to apply the guidelines for your particular project.

Visual Identity Guidelines (Updated February 2017)

The design of the logo draws its inspiration from the shape of the brain as well as organic shapes found in nature. To reflect the spirit of collaboration prevalent at The Neuro, the logo is composed of three overlapping, transparent entities representing the connection between the researchers, clinical staff and patients who coexist within the organization.

The Neuro’s branding and public awareness campaign was made possible by a generous donation of pro-bono creative services from Bos (now DentsuBos), a prominent communications and marketing agency in Montreal.
