The Schulich School of Music is housed in both the historic Strathcona Music Building and the new music complex, which includes a world class sound recording and music technology research facility and an extensive Music Library. In addition to a rehearsal space, large enough for an entire orchestra, this complex provides considerable room for music instruction, practice, and performance in a near-perfect acoustic environment. Founded as the Conservatorium of Music in 1904 and later incorporated as a faculty in 1920, the Schulich School of Music has enjoyed steady growth to its present position as the largest music school in Canada.
