Born in Krakow 1947, the Polish musician first immigrated to the U.S, where he was professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.  Wanting to start a family with his companion Danielle Raymond, he then moved to Montreal in the 1985.

Jan Jarczyk was a professor at the Schulich School of Music since 1991 and became known as one of Quebec's most remarkable jazz pianists.  His many public performances as well as his dozen recordings are a testament to his compositional and pianistic genius.
