Graduate Music Handbook
This handbook should be read by all graduate students of the Schulich School of Music. You will find some useful information and details of various rules and regulations that apply to you throughout your graduate studies at McGill. It is important that you be aware of all such rules and regulations.
This booklet is intended as a supplementary document to those published by the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office, so that, rather than repeat information available elsewhere, we have endeavored to direct the reader to the correct source. It is therefore important that, in addition to reading this handbook, you consult the following booklets issued by the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office. In the case of inconsistencies, these are the definitive texts:

It is also important to check your McGill email address at least once every few days as notices concerning classes, marks, fellowships, etc. as well as notes to individual students are sent there.
All staff and students are invited to attend the annual orientation session for graduate students in Music, held each year at the end of August. The precise date is communicated to all new students in the registration information sent by email in July.
