Mezzo-Soprano Rihab Chaieb wins 1st Prize at the 2016 Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition

Rihab Chaieb has been awarded a First Prize at the 2016 Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition in New York.   She graduated with BMus in Voice from the  Schulich School of Music before becoming a member of the Canadian Opera Company's  Ensemble program. Currently finishing her first year at the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann program, Chaieb studied voice at Schulich with Professors Winston Purdy and Sanford Sylvan. While an undergraduate student at the Schulich School of Music, Chaieb sang in several Opera McGill productions including Carmen in "Le tragedie de Carmen", Baba the Turk in "The Rake's Progress" and the title role in Dido and Aeneas.
