At the graduate level, the programs consist of a mix of graduate courses and independent thesis research leading to Masters and PhD degrees.
Graduate programs leading to MEng, MSc and PhD research degrees are available in different areas of mining engineering, including strategic mine planning, mine optimization, orebody modeling, stochastic models and risk analysis in mine valuation, rock mechanics, numerical modelling, underground mine design, materials handling, and others. Please see Research for current research areas, activities and links.
Our graduate program encourages multidisciplinary research, and welcomes outstanding students from other engineering and science disciplines, including Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Finance, Earth Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, and others.
Coursework based programs are available and lead to the MEng (Project) degree or the Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering.
