
Research Assistant Position
We are looking for a research assistant with experience in X-Ray diffraction (XRD), X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-Ray microtomography (micro-CT). Working in our multi-user characterization facility, he/she will be responsible to effectively generate, analyze and interpret data. The research assistant will be a resource person for researchers and students, in addition to instructing users, resolving problems, providing technical support. He/she is expected to engage in collaborative relationships with users, develop procedures to handle instrument scheduling and participate in data analysis and sample measurements. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, and needs to have completed a Master’s or PhD in Science or Engineering, in areas such as physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering. Ideally he/she has experience with XPS, XRD, and MicroCT operation and maintenance, data analysis and interpretation, with some experience with materials texture analysis.
