The Second Information Bulletin of the 16th MIE Conference: Registration and Preparations

Montreal, July 12, 2013.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Greetings from MIE and Montreal!

Re: Registration and Preparation of the Summary and Full-Length Papers

On the behalf of the conference, I thank you for preparing to participate in the 16th Annual McGill International Entrepreneurship (MIE) conference. I am following up on the feedback sent directly to the corresponding authors of each submitted papers before June 30th, 2013. I hope that you have received and acted on them already.

This bulletin briefly updates you and asks for acting on four topics, as follows:

1. Registration. The Conference Registration Form is attached and is also posted on the conference website already. Please fill it out the attached form at your earliest convenience and send it to us by fax as soon as possible and before July 20th. Registration is very important for enabling us to prepare sufficient conference materials and order food, beverage, etc. Please take a moment to help us by sending it to us quickly. We could not arrange for a secure Internet connection in time to avoid potential abuse of personal information and hence the option of using a secure Fax.

2. A Summary of Your Paper. We ask you to send us a two-to-three page updated summary of your paper no later than July 20th. This summary will be included in the conference compendium of summaries, which will be printed and distributed to the attending scholars for their quick reference. It will be also posted on the conference web-site later-on. These summaries should inform scholars attending the conference to select a session and enabling them to reflect, raise questions and offer suggestions to the author(s).
Please allow for 1 inch (2.5 Centimeters) margins and use Times New Roman font size 12 for consistency.

3. Full Paper. We ask that you send us your full-length paper for inclusion in the conference proceedings before July 20th. The proceedings will be only made available to the attending scholars and will not be posted on the conference website to preserve your copyright for publication later-on. We aim to publish all papers in coherent collections in special issues of scholarly journals or as collection of chapters in book volumes of high impact after the conference (more to be discussed during the conference). ‎
Please allow for 1 inch (2.5 Centimeters) margins and use Times New Roman font size 12 for consistency.

4. Conference Presentations. We hope to conduct this conference as a research-intensive workshop to allow for as much discussions, feed-back, questions and answers during and beyond the scheduled sessions as possible. This format requires that you convey thought-provoking or controversial highlights of your research to the audience for their questions, reflections, suggestions and discussion in the session and beyond. Each paper will have about 30 minutes time and we suggest that you limit your presentation to 20 minutes, or 20 PowerPoint slides, to allow sufficient time for questions, answer, suggestions and discussions. Please bring your presentation on a USB storage key.

We kindly ask you to send both the revised summary and the full paper to 2013mie.conference [at] mcgill.ca at your earliest convenience and before July 20th.
Please use your last name, few key words of the title and date in the file name of your documents to avoid any confusion with those of others and the earlier versions – Thank you.

The Conference is shaping up very well; but we need your timely help to prepare everything on time! We look forward to receiving your registration and documents soon and meet you in Montreal in early August.

With Best Wishes for the weekend and pleasant flight to Montreal,

Hamid Etemad
