McGill launches a new aerospace engineering CREATE program!

Competitive Manufacturing for the Aerospace Industry: Technology and Design, is spearheaded by the MIAE, in collaboration with CRIAQ. This training program will prepare graduate-level engineering students to step directly into industry from university research projects, thereby helping to maintain and expand Canada's strong presence in the global aerospace industry.

 McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law offers first-ever Strategic Space Law Program 

  McGill University, in partnership with the University of Adelaide Law School, is offering the first-ever Strategic Space Law Program, at the McGill Institute for Air and Space Law, on October 27-31, 2014. This program offers a unique opportunity to lawyers and other professionals in varied international and government organizations to understand space law in a strategic context. The McGill Institute for Aerospace Engineering (MIAE) plays the leading role as the voice of aerospace engineering within McGill University.  It’s where education, research, and training come together to create a culture of aerospace innovation and excellence. Consider the:

Montreal's Aerospace Scene:  With the accelerating growth of aerospace as an international and multi-faceted industry, McGill is in a unique postion to respond to current and future challenges. Montreal is one of the world's foremost aerospace hubs. The Montreal aerospace industry is the world's 4th largest centre of aerospace manufacturing, and the only area where an entire aircraft can be assembled from locally-manufactured components.

Aerospace Research: The MIAE promotes McGill's aerospace expertise, and lobbies for collaborative projects with industry, research institutes, and universites around the world. With over 40 professors actively engaged in aerospace R&D, McGill boasts a research capability spanning a variety of disciplines, including mechanical, materials, civil, and electrical and computer engineering, as well as aerospace law.                              

                                                                                                                                                                    

 

MIAE Students: McGill students who are members of the MIAE participate in events and activities including industry tours, aerospace conferences, aerospace design team channges, as well as paid industry internships. The internship experience bridges the classroom and the workplace, enabling students to develop essential work skills, job experience, as well as contacts that will help them land future employment in the aerospace sector.
