Volunteer Positions

VOLUNTEER RESEARCH ASSISTANT

DESCRIPTION:

McGill Mental Health’s Eating Disorder Program (EDP) is in search of a research volunteer who is interested in working with a team devoted to the treatment and prevention of eating disorders at McGill University.

Volunteer Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data collection, entry and analysis related to eating disorder statistics including statistics from the McGill EDP 
  • Compiling resources on eating disorder treatment programs
  • Conducting literature reviews on various topics for new projects
  • Gathering research and information for workshops, discussion groups on campus and videos

Mental Health Outreach & Prevention

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enthusiastic, passionate and creative individuals interested in raising awareness on campus
  • Dedicated, reliable and committed individuals
  • Available minimum 5 hours per week, including a weekly meeting with the program coordinator
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Research experience and familiarity with SPSS is an asset

OUTREACH & PREVENTION VOLUNTEER:

DESCRIPTION

McGill Mental Health’s Eating Disorder Program is in search of volunteers who are interested in working with a team devoted to the treatment and prevention of eating disorders at McGill University.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Increasing awareness of the McGill Eating Disorder Program through postering and social media
  • Running booths throughout campus aimed at outreach and prevention
  • Organizing movie nights, cooking classes and more
  • Organizing displays for McGill’s Activities night, Eating Disorder Awareness Week, Fat Talk Free Week and Health Promotion Week
  • Some data collection and processing related to eating disorder statistics at McGill University
  • Researching eating disorder resources
  • Leading various workshops and discussion groups on campus
  • Initiating new projects that fit with the philosophy of our program
  • Conducting literature reviews on various topics for new projects
  • Gathering research and information for workshops, discussion groups and videos
