Medical Education Awards

The award is designed to stimulate and reward collaboration in teaching by recognizing teaching development work by a group on a common project. Two or more individuals, one of whom must be teaching at a Canadian University, are eligible to apply.

This program recognizes outstanding contributions to education in the health professions in the areas of: teaching; educational leadership and innovation; faculty development; and research and scholarly activity in medical education.

The award recognizes excellence in supervision and teaching of graduate students of a professor with at least 3 years of graduate teaching.

The award recognizes excellence in supervision and teaching of graduate students of a professor who is within the first 12 years of his/her career as an academic.

The award recognizes Fellows of the RCPSC who actively provided role models for medical students, residents and other Fellows in five regions in Canada. One award per region each year. Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) selects the recipient.

The award recognizes Fellows of the RCPSC for outstanding qualities and contributions as medical educators (and other two criteria) in five regions in Canada. One or two awards per region each year. RAC selects the recipient.

This award recognizes an instructor, who, in opinion of his/her students and peers, has been an outstanding teacher and has displayed exceptional interest and enthusiasm for learning needs of students.

Submissions by staff from member institutions are judged on the degree of innovation and on the impact on learners, teachers and/or teaching environment. Awards are announced and presented at the NEGEA Spring Meeting.

The prize recognizes excellence in teaching in categories of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor.

Award recognizes outstanding teaching contributions in the education and training of undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science.

The award recognizes an outstanding family medicine teacher deemed by his/her peers to have made a significant contribution to family medicine education.

The award recognizes and outstanding CFPC family physician member for his/her contribution to teaching, vision and leadership in the discipline.

The award recognizes an outstanding contributions in various specific areas including teaching.

Award granted to an individual for extraordinary contributions to medical education community.

Award recognizes significant contributions to medical education made by gifted teachers.

Award recognizes an individual or an organization for contribution to develop women leaders in academic medicine, including improvement of educationl and professional environment and nurturing students.

This award recognizes superior teaching, pedagogical innovation and leadership at the undergraduate level of dental education.
