Robert Wilkins is a maritime lawyer based in Montreal, Canada. Bob is a member of the Canadian Maritime Law Association. He has extensive experience in maritime arbitration and is a member of the Association of Maritime Arbitrators of Canada. Bob taught maritime law at McGill Law Faculty and was highly respected by students for his encyclopedic knowledge of maritime law and professionalism. For over sixteen years Robert Wilkins was Prof. Tetley's full-time research associate and his right-hand man, assisting in research, writing and publishing of several books, including the new Marine Cargo Claims, 4 Ed., 2008, other books and many articles on maritime law and conflict of laws. Robert Wilkins' scholarship, computer skills and writing ability have proven invaluable assets in researching, verifying, editing and updating every chapter of the new edition of Marine Cargo Claims, under Prof. Tetley's direction, making it, in effect, a wholly new book. Bob also succesfully maintained Prof. Tetley's website for many years.
Since 2007, Robert has worked for Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Montreal, primarily in maritime legal research. He won the William Stavert Prize for Legal Writing at that firm in 2009. In that same year, he was elected Secretary-Treasurer of The Canadian Maritime Law Association.
