Who Can Use The Clinic?
The Mac Student Health Clinic can be used by all registered McGill students who have paid the Student Services fee. This fee is automatically charged on the account of all students. This does not apply to students registered in Continuing Studies. In order to use the clinic, students must present proof that they have paid the fee. The clinic can not be used by Blue Cross dependents.
Students must present their valid McGill ID card as well as either their provincial health care card or the McGill Blue Cross health insurance card. If you do not bring your card, you will have to pay for the visit. For more information on health insurance coverage, click here.
How To Make An Appointment
Your first appointment must be made in person. Students are required to sign the consent form which allows us to use our electronic software. Students who don’t agree to sign the consent form will not be able to use our clinic. Future appointments can then be booked either by phone or in person.

How To Cancel An Appointment
Please call (514) 398-7992 at least 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment. Students who do not call 24 hours in advance to cancel will be charged $25.00.
When you call, please mention that it is for a cancellation and leave your full name, McGill ID number and the date/time of your appointment.
Same day appointments: Students who do not present themselves for their appointment will be charged $25.00.
Mental Health Services
It’s normal to need a little help from time to time. Exams, essays, and adjusting to campus life can put a lot of stress on a person and McGill is committed to helping students cope. Our Counseling & Mental Health Service offers onsite counseling with a psychologist for personal, academic and vocational concerns.
Appointments are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Workshops on stress and time management, career exploration, healthy relationships and other topics of concern may also be offered on request, and additional workshops are available at the downtown campus. Please visit the Counseling & Mental Health website for more information.
Release of Information
All students requesting copies of documentation from their file must complete a release form. Most requests are completed within 5-7 business days.
Please note that test results can never be released over the phone nor by email (only fax, pick-up or standard mail).
Please know that the time to process requests is longer if you are requesting recent test results. In those cases, we have to wait for the test results to be returned to the clinic and reviewed by a doctor before we can start to process your request.
