Phishing scam with subject: "Compromissed account"

A phishing email has been reported with the subject "Compromissed account". It is signed from McGill's IT Service Desk, and urges the recipient to click a CHANGED PASSWORD link. A sample of the email is shown below.

uPrint Anywhere (via email) issues persist

Earlier this week, changes were made to the uPrint Anywhere service to resolve issues with email body text not printing properly (see previous announcement).  However, this change has not resolved all issues; certain attached files are still not printing correctly when sent via email to uprint [dot] mono [at] mcgill [dot] ca or uprint [dot] colour [at]

uPrint Anywhere changes: prints attached files, but not email body

uPrint Anywhere is the service that allows you to print documents from mobile devices and laptops, by attaching them to an email and sending to either uprint [dot] mono [at] mcgill [dot] ca or uprint [dot] colour [at] mcgill [dot] ca.

A phishing email is circulating which tells users that a virus has been spotted on "our Sever" and the user must take action to avoid shut down of their account. A sample of the email is shown below.

uPrint Anywhere issues

When sending print jobs through uPrint Anywhere, they may print out as blank or illegible pages. The uPrint service itself is functioning normally, and you can print from any computer that has the uPrint drivers installed.

IT Services staff are investigating the issue; we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

Audiovisual equipment loans extends hours from 9 am to 4:45 pm

The Audiovisual Equipment Loans office at 688 Sherbrooke West, room 285 will now be open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:45 pm. The office at Macdonald campus is open from 9 to 5.

This office lends AV equipment, such as digital cameras, video cameras, projectors, screens and more, to instructors, staff and students.  Make sure to call and reserve what you need in advance.

Update for Mac OS X El Capitan fixes issues with Office 2016

Apple has released a new update, OS X 10.11.1, which addresses the previously announced compatibility issues with Office 2016. For more information, see the article in MacRumors.

Note that this update has yet not been tested by McGill IT Services.
