Histology Facility GCRC Histological analysis constitutes an important technique in animal studies as it permits the characterization of abnormalities at the cellular level.
The Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre has established a very specialized histology service to respond to the needs of its members, especially those in need of tumor tissue characterization, developmental histology (embryos) and animal pathology. The samples submitted for analysis are treated with the highest quality of standards and with the latest technology. Coupled with the veterinary pathology, the histology services assure that the scientific projects of the GCC members benefit from a rare expertise which allows for the detection of subtle differences required by the experimental protocols.
The Histology Facility (HF) is a full service research facility providing a wide range of services for routine histological procedures including:
- Tissue processing for paraffin/frozen blocks
- Sectioning of paraffin/frozen blocks
- H and E and PAS staining of paraffin sections
- Training in general tissue processing and histology study methodologies
