Borrowers from Quebec universities

 

Faculty from Quebec universities and CEGEPs

    • If you have a CREPUQ (Conférence des recteurs et des principaux des universités du Québec) consortial card you may obtain a McGill Library membership card. Note: The McGill Library card you receive does not provide remote access to the Library’s electronic resources.
    • To obtain your McGill library card, please complete the McGill Library membership form, and bring your CREPUQ card and a photo ID to the Library Services Desk of any McGill branch library during regular service hours.
    • For information on how to obtain a CREPUQ card, contact the library of your home university.
    • CEGEP faculty should obtain a letter from their department requesting CREPUQ borrowing privileges for research purposes, present it to CREPUQ to acquire a CREPUQ card, then follow the above procedure.
    • Faculty members and 3rd year Masters of Divinity students of the Montreal School of Theology who don’t already have a McGill ID may request a membership card on presentation of a letter from the School. This arrangement is valid to August 31, 2013.
    • You may borrow books (regular loans), audio/video materials and maps. You may borrow up to 30 items at one time. All other types of materials can be used in the Library.

1 All loans are subject to immediate recall if needed for reserves, or after 14 days from the date of the original loan if requested by another library user. AV and Map loans are subject to recall after 7 days. When you receive a recall notice from the Library, you must return the item by the new (possibly earlier) due date or you will be charged $5 per day, with a maximum fine of $100 per item. You will be blocked from borrowing if recalled items are not returned by the due date provided in the recall notice, or if you have $10 or more in outstanding overdue fines.

      Returning items

      • Faculty from a university in Quebec or Ontario may return items borrowed from the McGill Library to the library of their university.

      Students from Quebec universities

      Graduate Students

      • Graduate students from other Quebec universities have the same borrowing privileges as faculty from Quebec universities and CEGEPs.
      • Please see above for procedure.

      Undergraduate Students

      • Undergraduates from Quebec universities with a CREPUQ (Conférence des recteurs et des principaux des universités du Québec) consortial card can obtain a McGill library card.
      • The McGill library card that you receive allows you limited borrowing privileges.
      • To obtain your McGill library card, please complete the McGill Library membership form, and bring your CREPUQ card and a photo ID to the Library Services Desk of any McGill branch library during regular service hours.
      • For information on how to obtain a CREPUQ card, contact the library of your home university.
      • You may borrow books (regular loans) and audio/video materials. You may borrow up to three items at one time. All other types of materials can be used in the Library. You may not recall items that other currently out to other users.
      • Note: The McGill Library card you receive does not provide remote access to the Library’s electronic resources.
