The role of the Humanities & Social Sciences Library Advisory Committee (HuSSLAC) is to advise the Associate Director, Client Services, Humanities, Law, Management and Social Sciences on policy matters relating to collections, services and specific user needs, and to consider questions under review by the Senate Committee on Libraries.
HuSSLAC consists of a minimum of ten professors, from the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Religious Studies, the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, as well as two undergraduate student representatives and two graduate student representatives. The Associate Director, Client Services, Humanities, Law, Management and Social Sciences, the Trenholme Dean of Libraries, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts (or delegate) and the V-P Academic of the Arts Undergraduate Society are ex officio members.
Faculty members are appointed by the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Religious Studies, and School of Information Studies. Student members are appointed by the relevant student society: Arts Undergraduate Society (AUS) and Post-Graduate Students' Society (PGSS).
The Chair of HuSSLAC has a seat on the Senate Committee on Libraries. HuSSLAC meets at least twice during the academic year.
