On this page you will find links to free courses that you can register for and follow in real time, such as MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and courses that simply offer all of their materials freely online under an intellectual property license, including video lectures, notes, and assignments. There are also a number of places to go to find free textbooks in science and engineering and a few additional resources for faculty and instructors.

MOOCs and McGill University

Harvard and MIT are founding partners of edX, where access is provided to courses from these and many other universities. McGill recently partnered with edX, successfully launching McGillX with Food for Thought (CHEM181x).

The next course to be offered by McGill is Natural Disasters (ATOC185x). This course examines the science behind different types of natural disasters and our ability or inability to control and predict such events. Sign up for ATOC185x today!
