Course guides for Electrical and Computer Engineering

1. Sources for background information

If you are not sure what your topic is all about, look it up in a dictionary or encyclopedia. Start with:

Explore other reference sources from CRC Press at ENGnetBASE and ElectricalENGINEERINGnetBASE

2. Searching the library catalogue

Use the basic word(s) anywhere or advanced keyword search in the library catalogue. You can search using words like - electrical, electric?, engineering, computer, control, system?, etc.

Tips for searching the library catalogue

Truncation symbol: ? e.g. control? will retrieve catalogue records containing the words control, controls, controller, controllers, controlling, etc.
Phrase searching: "___" e.g. "control theory" will retrieve catalogue records containing the phrase control theory
Boolean operators: (), AND, OR, NOT
default: AND
e.g. nonlinear AND (systems OR control) will retrieve catalogue records containing the word nonlinear AND either systems OR control

You can also browse the shelves within this call number range, TK1-9971 (Electrical engineering):

TK1-9971 Electrical engineering

  • TK301-399 Electric meters
  • TK452-454.4 Electric apparatus: circuits, networks, etc.

  • TK2000-2891 Generators, motors, transformers, etc.
  • TK2896-2985 Energy conversion
  • TK3001-3521 Transmission of electric power
  • TK4001-4102 Applications of electric power
  • TK4125-4399 Electric lighting
  • TK4601-4661 Electric heating
  • TK5101-6720 Telecommunication
