Depositing to eScholarship

Faculty publications including journal articles (preprints, post-prints, or the published version, depending on which version is permitted by the publisher); conference papers; working papers; technical reports; research reports; books and book chapters can all be deposited into eScholarship, McGill's institutional repository.

Simply send us an escholarship.library [at] mcgill.ca (email) with your list of publications from your curriculum vitae or links to any website documenting your scholarship.  You will receive a confirmation email within 3 working days informing you that we have received your request. Once your list has been verified we will send another email listing all items cleared for deposit.  It will also have McGill's non-Exclusive License to which you will have to reply in order to grant permission.

Embargo Policy

eScholarship actively supports requests for embargoed content.  Please submit all  items without delay.  If this situation applies to you and you would like more details please contact us.

Copyright and Faculty Publications

Papers that have been previously published (in commercial or society journals) must have copyright permissions verified. The Library assists in determining the rights of authors to republish papers in eScholarship@McGill.

Publisher copyright and self-archiving policies can be found at RoMEO.

It is possible for authors to retain important rights regarding their journal articles before signing publisher agreements. Information about modifying publishers' copyright transfer agreements, or author addenda, can be found at SPARC (Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition), Science Commons, or the CARL (Canadian Association of Research Libraries) websites.
